The thing about working in a series is that what you learn from one painting will quickly apply to the others.  This can go on for as long as you work on the series like an infinite spiral of improving the group.  Each step-up that one painting teaches allows for experiments to advance the others in a continuous loop, its a microcosm of the theory of evolution. I find it works best when there are about 3 sessions for each painting so that they aren't "finished" before the learning loop can play out a few times.  This painting provided some great insights for how to handle the water in the series.
