| Like the blue lamp this lamp with a wooden owl base has also been at my grandparents since as long as I can remember. Its truly remarkable experience to paint objects that I have such a familiarity with. These items are so ingrained in my mind that they become almost invisible or similar to how I would regard one of my hands, I just know it. When painting though I don't "just know" anything, I am constantly looking and searching to translate very experiential information on a scale that makes the familiar into the unfamiliar. |
