This painting was part a series of paintings done for my first GeoMandala project in collaboration with Vero Diaz which was completed at an artist residency in the Catskill mountains of New York. The project involved plotting points on a map in the shape of a mandala and then hiking to those points via GPS to do plein air paintings.  The map and panorama for this painting can be found here and you can see the residency page for the project here (be sure to check out the rest of their site as its a wonderful program).
